Culture Minister Daniel Barbu and the director of the National Centre of Cinematography (CNC), Mihai Kogalniceanu, on Tuesday, October 29, participated in the signing ceremony of a join statement between Le Centre National du Cinema et de l'Image Animee (National Centre of Cinematography and the Moving Image, France) and CNC.
The document was signed by the President of Le Centre National du Cinema et de l'Image Animee, Frederique Bredin, and the director of the CNC, Mihai Kogalniceanu.
This joint statement also refers to the co-production agreement between Romania and France signed in Cannes on May 18, 2009, and to the other existing conventions between the two states. The event took place within the framework of the festival Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest.
Thus, with Cristian Mungiu attending the event, Frederique Bredin confessed that ?4 months, 3 weeks and and 2 days' is one of his favourite films. She reviewed the cooperation between Romania and France in the film sector, saying that within seven years there were made no less than 21 co-productions.
Minister Daniel Barbu stated that the respective document will contribute 'to support creativeness in the cinema field in Romania, in a more systematic and consistent manner'.
According to the joint statement, the two centres intend to cooperate in film production, film distribution, expertise and in training the personnel to combat piracy. The document will enter into force on October 29, 2013. AGERPRES
