The Public Radio has witnessed the political, historical transformation undergone by Romania, said Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean on the occasion of an event dedicated to the celebration of 85 years since the establishment of the Public Radio Station.
" It's an anniversary moment with many meanings : We talk about 85 years since the establishment of the Public Radio and we talk about an institution, an activity that was important for each of us both before 1989 and after 1989. (...) I would say that Radio Romania is the place where the exact time of political, economic and international life is given", Titus Corlatean pointed out at the conference " Radio Romania — 85 years : a history in the service of Romanian foreign policy ".
The Minister recalled the steps of the Romanian history that the Public Radio has reflected in its 85 years of existence.
"In the 85 years since its founding, the Public Radio has witnessed political, historical transformation Romania went through. We talk about the monarchy period, of the Second World War period, of the totalitarian regime period — and especially of the past few decades — of a Romania which knew, had the force to recover its democratic values and joined as a state the European and Euro-Atlantic institutions", the Minister highlighted.
" I'd like to congratulate you for the manner in which, over the 85 years since the founding, the Public Radio covered the efforts of our diplomacy to serve the Romanian citizens' interests. I am convinced that Radio Romania will continue to stay close to the Romanian diplomacy in the upcoming decades . Thanks to your programs, all over the world , from America to Australia, the Romanian language can be listened to on the radio waves. Many Happy Returns of the Day, Radio Romania! ", Titus Corlatean further wished to the public broadcaster.
