UWK World Cup in Belgrade, first competition organised under the aegis of United World Karate

The UWK World Cup, to be held in Belgrade on April 25-27, will be the first competition to ever be organised under the aegis of the United World Karate, according to the calendar established at the first meeting of the world organisation's Board of Directors this year in Bucharest.

"We are hoping that participants in this karateka competition will send a real signal of unification of this sport," stated Vladimir Iorga, UWK Deputy Chairman, according to a press release to AGERPRES.

The second competition established by the UWK Executive Committee will the UWK World Championship for senior athletes, to be held on October 19-26, in Sao Paolo (Brazil), as the first united world championship of the seven founding UWK federations.

The working meeting of the UWK Executive Committee will end on Thursday, January 22, with a press conference hosted by the amphitheater hall of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (COSR). AGERPRES
