Florin Iordache was born on December 14, 1960, in Caracal, Olt county.

In 1985, he graduated the Faculty of Mechanics of the University of Craiova, according to the website of the Chamber of Deputies. In 2002 he became a jurist, after graduating the Faculty of Law within the same University. He holds two master's degree, one from the National Institute of Administration, in 2004, and another from "Nicolae Titulescu" University in Bucharest, in 2006. Also in 2006, he attended the post-graduate courses from the National College of Defence.

In 2007, he defended his PhD thesis "International economic relations".

He attended graduate courses at the Romanian Diplomatic Institute, in 2008.

He worked as an engineer at the Furniture Factory from Caracal (1985-1989) and chief engineer — Director of SAFAR S.F. 6 Caracal (1989-1996). In the period between 1996-2000, he was Deputy Mayor of Caracal city.

Between 1996-2000, he was the head of the Socialist Party Organization in the Olt County. In 2000, he became the Deputy head of the Olt county Organization of PDSR/PSD (Social Democracy Party from Romania/Social Democratic Party).

In the 2000-2004 legislature, he was a PDSR Deputy (until June 2001), consequently PSD Deputy starting from June 2001. Gaining successive mandates until present day. During his mandates he was constantly a member of the Legal, Discipline and Immunities Committee of the Chamber. Furthermore, between June 2016 — December 2016 he was interim Speaker of the Chamber.
